Documentation: Upgrading

System Upgrade

We provide easy ways to update Curator. You can always check the status of your Curator instance on the homepage of the backend, or on the System Upgrade page. The "Current Version" will show what your Curator instance is currently running and the "Latest Version" will show what our latest release available is. You can control the version you are on by upgrading or downgrading. We'll always give you a downgrade option to undo any upgrades.

Multi-version Upgrades (4+ versions)

If you plan to make an upgrade to your Curator instance that is more than 4 months out-of-date, we recommend upgrading 3 versions at-a-time. You can utilize the version-specific upgrades on the upgrade page (or use the instructions below for pre-2022 versions).

Version Specific Upgrades (pre-2022) Beginning in 2022 releases of Curator, the previous release links are all listed on the upgrade page. If you would like to target a specific version of Curator and you are on pre-2022 release, you can copy the "Manual Upgrade" links from the upgrade page.

  1. Login to the backend of your Curator instance (e.g. https://www.site.com/backend).
  2. Navigate to the Settings > Curator > System Upgrade section from the left-hand menu.
  3. Click the "Manual Upgrade" button which will display three links below the row of buttons.
  4. Copy the "previous" url, and paste it into a text-editor. Replace the &version=previous in the URL with the version you would like to target (i.e. &version=2021.08.04-05).
  5. Paste this url into a web-browser to download a zip file that will contain the version you specified.
  6. Upload the .zip file you just downloaded to the the "Upgrade Zip Archive" and click "submit".
