    Import / Export

We provide a simple manual backup process that can help with migrating your Curator content from one environment to another, or to the server as a backup so you don't lose all that hard work.

NOTE: It is NOT recommended you use this method with MSSQL. In that case please work with a DBA to manually migrate any tables you need.

    To export your Curator metadata:

    1. Navigate to the backend of the system (e.g. https://www.site.com/backend).
    2. Log in if prompted.
    3. Click on Settings > Curator > Import/Export in the left navigation.
    4. Check the necessary items you need to backup (or click 'Select All' at the top)
    5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Export" and this will download a JSON file you can keep as a backup or use to import your settings to another Curator instance.

    To import your Curator metadata:

    1. Navigate to the backend of the system (e.g. https://www.site.com/backend).
    2. Log in if prompted.
    3. Click on Settings > Curator > Import/Export in the left navigation.
    4. Click on the "Import" tab at the top.
    5. Click the "Browse" button to locate the JSON file you exported using the steps above, then click 'Open'.
    6. Select any import options you'd like (it is recommended you check the option for Rollback all changes if an error is encountered)
    7. Click on the "Import" button to import the JSON file.
